Hotel Ambasador

Hotel Ambasador in Opatija is hosting a one-year artistic residency by contemporary Croatian artist Vedran Ružić. During the residency, the hotel becomes a space for encounters between art, creativity, and dialogue, while visitors will have the opportunity to discover Ružić’s artistic work through three thematic exhibition cycles – sculptures, paintings, and drawings – presented throughout the year. A special part of the programme is the “Artist at Work” series of events, held on the first Friday of every month, when the artist will create new works live in front of the audience. The residency offers a unique opportunity to experience contemporary art in the inspiring setting of Hotel Ambasador and provides guests and visitors with a different perspective on Opatija through creativity and artistic expression.

Juraj Šporer Art Pavilion

The POP ART – The Infeld Collection exhibition is being presented in Opatija for the first time, featuring 42 original works by ten leading American and European pop artists from the prestigious Infeld Collection in Vienna. Visitors will have the opportunity to see works by artists who shaped the history of pop art, including Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Roy Lichtenstein, Mel Ramos, Kiki Kogelnik, Allen Jones, Richard Lindner, Steve Kaufman, James Rizzi, and James Rosenquist. The exhibited works come from the renowned Vienna-based Infeld Collection, one of Austria's largest private art collections, founded by Peter and Margaretha Infeld. The collection includes outstanding works of pop art as well as other important artistic movements. The exhibition is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and runs until 27 September 2026.

Hotel Kvarner

Candlelight, the globally renowned concert series that combines music with the unique atmosphere of thousands of LED candles, is coming to the Kvarner region for the first time this autumn. Following its success in more than 150 cities worldwide, the first concerts for the Rijeka region will be held in early September at Hotel Kvarner in Opatija. Audiences can enjoy performances by string quartets featuring both classical masterpieces and arrangements of hits by artists such as Coldplay, Imagine Dragons and ABBA. The first announced programmes include Coldplay vs. Imagine Dragons, Vivaldi's Four Seasons, and Tribute to ABBA. The concerts last around one hour, and tickets are already available through the Fever platform.

The Light Festival Lovran is an immersive light spectacle that, with specially created audio-visual effects and animations, brings to life the facades of buildings and houses in the medieval squares of Lovran. The author’s team of artists creates a program that, with a special type of laser projector, is projected onto the facades of picturesque houses in the old town, including some surprises.
